Global Talent Visa: The Complete Guide

The Global Talent visa is for people who are leaders, or have the potential to lead, in academia and research, arts and culture, or digital technology. You do not need a job offer or a sponsor, but you usually need an endorsement from an approved body.

Two stages

Most people apply in two stages: first you get an endorsement from the relevant body for your field, then you apply for the visa itself. Some prestigious prizes let you skip the endorsement stage.

Exceptional talent vs exceptional promise

  • Exceptional talent (already a leader) can apply for settlement after 3 years
  • Exceptional promise (potential to lead) can apply for settlement after 5 years
  • There is no minimum salary and no sponsor to tie you to one employer
