We live in the east of Knottingley, a small town in Yorkshire (in the north of England). We are near open countryside but close enough to towns, schools, shops and doctors. Our location is best suited to people who need a quiet place, with access to computers and the internet. You can get from Knottingley to the regional cities of Leeds and Wakefield by train, and the station is about 25 minutes’ walk from our house.
Our local high school has already confirmed it will accept Ukrainian refugee children. My son (aged 21), works at that school, and my daughter (18) is currently at college. We have another daughter (left in the picture) who is at university and not living with us at the moment. Our pet dog, Lucy, is very playful but she can get frightened very easily by people and other animals.
All the best,
